Frequently asked questions about
Vibe Drive Products & Service
Vibe Drive’s unique vibration technology produces up to 5,000 vibrations per minute (VPM), allowing precise control of post or pile depth and alignment. This process eliminates the need for harsh hammering or nitrogen-powered systems, reducing the risk of material damage while ensuring smooth, accurate installations.
It depends on several factors—soil type and condition, your machine’s hydraulic flow rate, the material of the post or pile, and the operator’s experience. That said, most customers report installing posts and piles at least 30% faster than with other methods. In ideal conditions, some have seen up to 50% faster installation times, driving posts to depth in as little as ten (10) seconds, as shown in our highlight video "Done In 10 Seconds".
Vibe Drive drivers perform exceptionally well in granular soils such as sand, loam, and gravel, where vibrations compact the particles tightly around the post or pile for long-lasting stability.
They are also effective in wet or silty soils, including shallow water and shoreline areas, without excessive environmental disturbance.
In many cases, their powerful vibrations allow them to work through hard or compacted ground, even thin or semi-cured asphalt or concrete layers.
When driving wood posts in cohesive soils like clay, having moisture in the soil during installation can further improve performance.
They can handle lightly rocky or mixed soils and even semi-frozen ground, though extremely rocky terrain or fully frozen ground isn’t recommended unless you are driving steel posts, which can often be driven into most ground conditions except shelf rock.
Vibe Drive drivers work effectively with a wide range of post and pile materials and types. The Long John skid steer model is specifically designed for driving steel posts or piles, but also performs well with concrete or fiberglass.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS about
Skid Steers
Vibe Drive vibratory drivers channel your skid steer’s hydraulic energy through a high-quality, bi-directional motor that powers our industry-leading vibration technology—delivering up to 5,000 vibrations per minute. With minimal down pressure, these vibrations travel down the post or pile, displacing the earth for smooth, easy installation. As the vibrations settle, the ground tightens securely around the post or pile, creating a strong, stable hold.
All Vibe Drive skid steer models work with any brand of skid steer loader or compact track loader, including John Deere, Bobcat, CAT, Kubota, JCB, Case, New Holland, Komatsu, Hitachi, Takeuchi, Sany, and more.
The Badger, Pole-Cat, and Timber-Wolf models are compatible with machines of any size, including many models of compact stand-on loaders (mini track loaders / mini skid steers) from Ditch Witch, Kubota, and Bobcat.
The Long John, however, is only compatible with larger skid steers that can safely handle the 1,500 lbs weight of this model.
Each Vibe Drive skid steer model requires a hydraulic flow rate between 10–26 GPM (gallons per minute). We also recommend that your machine have a case drain line, which most do. In the rare case it does not, an alternative hydraulic motor can be provided for machines without one, though this isn’t the preferred option.
As noted, the Long John model is compatible only with large skid steers and requires an electrical connection to power the wired remote control.
All Vibe Drive skid steer models use a universal quick-attach mounting plate that connects just like your bucket or other attachments. Once mounted, there are typically three (3) quick-connect hoses to attach: two (2) half-inch (½”) hydraulic pressure and return hoses—interchangeable due to the bi-directional motor system—and one (1) three-eighths-inch (⅜”) case drain line.
No. With thousands of units in operation across North America, we’ve never had a customer report vibration-related damage to their machine. Custom rubber isolator bushings separate the vibrating head from the skid steer, minimizing vibration transfer. Operators are often surprised by how smooth and quiet the cab feels during operation.
Frequently asked questions about
Excavators
Vibe Drive vibratory drivers harness your excavator’s hydraulic energy through a high-quality, bi-directional motor that powers our unique vibration technology to deliver up to 5,000 vibrations per minute. With light down pressure, vibrations move through the post or pile, displacing soil for a quick, easy install. The ground then tightens back around the post or pile, locking it firmly in place.
The MX Puma excavator model is compatible with any brand of excavator or backhoe, including John Deere, Bobcat, CAT, Kubota, JCB, Case, New Holland, Komatsu, Hitachi, Takeuchi, Sany, and more. It’s designed to work seamlessly with mini and midi (small to mid-sized) machines.
The Vibe Drive MX Puma requires a hydraulic flow rate between 10–26 GPM (gallons per minute). We recommend a case drain line for best performance. In certain cases, we can provide an alternative hydraulic motor for machines without one, though it’s not the ideal setup.
Each MX Puma model comes with a custom mounting bracket built to fit your excavator’s make and model. It connects where the bucket or other attachments normally mount. Once attached, there are typically three (3) quick-connect hoses: two (2) half-inch (½”) hydraulic pressure and return hoses—interchangeable with the bi-directional motor—and one (1) three-eighths-inch (⅜”) case drain line.
No. With thousands of Vibe Drive units in use across North America, no customers have reported vibration damage. Rubber isolator bushings separate the vibrating head from the excavator, preventing vibration transfer. Operators often comment on how smooth and quiet the cab feels while driving posts.

Vibe Drive vibratory drivers help you stay straight, consistent, and in control on uneven terrain by solving the problems that make slope work so frustrating.
Because our drivers hold the post with constant pressure while delivering smooth, high-frequency vibrations (up to 5,000 vibrations per minute), the post advances with significantly less resistance and shifting. This makes it much easier to maintain vertical alignment and consistent depth—even when your machine is far from level— and results in virtually no risk of your posts being damaged.
The lightweight design of Vibe Drive drivers, combined with the heavy low centre of gravity provided by the excavators and skid steers they mount to, offers superior stability with no concerns of your equipment being overloaded.
Vibe Drive vibrating post drivers are specifically engineered to thrive in tight spaces where traditional equipment struggles. The high-frequency vibration can drive posts quickly, even at unconventional angles, so you can work around obstacles with confidence.
Our compact lightweight models can even work safely with most compact loaders or mini excavators, allowing easy maneuvering and fast post placement in even the tightest spots.
Sleek design keeps sightlines in mind, giving your operators clear visibility of the post and ground to ensure precise installs on confined jobsites. The smooth vibration—rather than heavy hammering—enhances control and safety, significantly reducing the risk of damage to your surroundings.
Whether you're working in dense forests, mountainous terrain, or backcountry locations with limited road access, Vibe Drive post driver attachments are specifically designed for challenging, hard-to-reach locations. The compact and lightweight design makes it easy to transport and maneuver in areas where larger equipment simply can't go. Vibe Drive installs multiple post types and sizes in varying soil conditions with no additional tools or attachments needed—less equipment and fewer trips can mean significant savings on transportation and fuel costs.
Vibe Drive units also perform dependably in damp environments, using high-frequency vibration—not impact—to secure your posts without disrupting surrounding soil. The smooth, controlled vibration of the MX Puma model, paired with the reach of your excavator, allows you to work confidently on your over-water post installation projects with minimal disturbance to the underwater environment below.
Where impact hammers hit limits, Vibe Drive vibrating post drivers keep projects moving with efficiency and accuracy. Here's how we outperform impact in specific conditions:
Granular Soils: Impact scatters material and causes posts to drift off-line, while Vibe Drive vibrations displace and then retract particles tightly to the posts for straight driving and long-term stability.
Wet, Silty & Saturated Soils: Impact increases turbidity and struggles with depth control, but Vibe Drive’s vibration technology temporarily liquefies soils for smooth, low-disturbance installation.
Cohesive Soils: Impact creates a compacted plug, causing driving difficulties, while Vibe Drive vibratory post drivers relax cohesive particles (especially with moisture) for smoother driving.
Lightly Rocky & Mixed Soils: Impact causes posts to deflect or bend when striking buried stones, resulting in uneven installation, but Vibe Drive vibrations shift small rocks aside to keep posts advancing straight on target.
Compacted Soils & Thin Pavement: Impact energy is absorbed by crusted surfaces, causing slow progress and quicker equipment wear, while Vibe Driv’s vibration energy loosens the internal bonding to penetrate hard layers efficiently.
Semi-Frozen Ground: Impact is resisted by frozen layers, and damaging posts becomes a significant risk, but Vibe Drive vibratory post drivers smoothly fracture frost and drive posts (especially steel) without pre-thawing.
The Vibe Drive vibration technology advantage means you’re installing posts and piles faster and more precisely — no matter the soil type or ground conditions.
